Naming a Baby

August 29th, 2006

Popular boys names right now seem to end in “en”. They are names like Caden, Aiden, Brayden, Laken, and Hayden.

Girls names seem to be going back in time and here are the names I have been hearing lately: Sophia, Ava, Pearl, Emma, and Isabella.

One thing I know: if you try to spell your child’s name in a different and unique way, get ready for all kinds of trouble. People are going to have trouble pronouncing the name. People are going to have trouble spelling the name. Your child will have a life long battle of spelling and mispronunciation problems. If you name your daughter something like: Bradleigh, don’t expect people to realize she is girl just because you spelled it this way.

Just my two cents.
